Green Roofing Installation

Green Roofs

Green roofs are becoming more popular as people recognise their many benefits.

Green Roof Installation: What is it and why do we do it?

Green roof installation is practised by R&D Roofing and is an innovative style of flat roofing which is pleasing to the eye, and economically efficient.

Green roofing is where the roof deck has intentionally grown vegetation or where habitats for wildlife are established. Due to the changing attitudes of the consumer and the increasing awareness of sustainable development to combat climate change, the demand for green roofing has soared over the past ten years.

Further, our green roof installation aims to combat progressive urbanisation and there is extensive amounts of roof space in the UK where a green roof installation could be implemented with little to no modification to the roof structure.

Benefits of Green Roof Installation

  • Reduce storm water run off
  • Increases the life span of the roof
  • Climate change adaption
  • Increases biodiversity
  • Improves air and water quality

To summarise, the main reason why many of our clients have been opting for a green roof installation is the environmental benefits.

In this day and age, people have started to adopt a socially responsible strategy to combat global warming. This strategy combines environmental awareness with a beautiful finish.

Liquid Flat Roof Installation

Liquid Coatings

Liquid coatings are applied by brush or roller whilst still cold and contain glass fibre or polyester in layers of liquid. Liquid coatings have been developed over recent years to give very high levels of adhesion and in the right situation that they form a very high quality roofing membrane.

  • No need to remove old roof surfaces.
  • Can be applied cold.
  • Low fire risk.
  • Ideal for roof refurbishments & overlays.
  • Good when access is limited.
  • Only applied by approved installers.

We are approved to install all the following Liquid Plastic products, Kemper and Sealoflex systems.

Roof and Sky Light Installation

Traditional Felt Roofing service

Even today the benefit of three layer felts are still the most popular flat roof covering and have been so for many years. The first type is BU FR Roll and pour, the hot bitumen method which is now rarely used because of the health and safety problems associated with it. The main felt roof method adopted within the industry is known as the Torch-on method where the surface is pre-coated in bitumen, which is then heated for a few moments before being laid directly to the roof surface. Aldworth Roofing Contracts use only the highest quality SBS type torch-on felts.

  • Fast efficient installations.
  • The most economical type of roofing.
  • High quality materials.
  • Quick installation.
  • Very long lasting due to quality felts.

We are approved installers for the following roofing systems: Delta Waterproofing, Icopal/Anderson, Bailey, Langley Waterproofing, & Ruberoid.
